Zeno Robinson returns to narrate Smoke, the fifth in Joe Ide’s IQ series. Host Jo Reed and AudioFile’s Robin Whitten discuss Robinson’s skilled narration that grounds this audiobook using his gift for dialogue and skill with action sequences. Robinson eases listeners inside Isaiah Quintabe’s (IQ’s) weary mind as he departs LA to look for peace and rejuvenation in Northern California. But trouble follows, and Robinson accelerates the tempo as IQ traps a blackmailer, catches a serial killer, and prevents corporate backstabbing. Robinson is terrific with dialogue, and thankfully there’s lots of it.
