Watch the new trailer for certified genius Bob Odenkirk’s Lucky Hank.
I love Bob Odenkirk: Better Call Saul remains the best spin-off in the history of the genre; for the record, it is definitively better than its source material, Breaking Bad. Odenkirk, who is obviously very funny, has the kind of dark streak that has long eluded the likes of comedian-turned-brooder Jim Carrey or Michael Myers (if you haven’t seen Odenkirk in Nobody, he’s incredible).
Luckily for me (and you), Odenkirk is starring in Lucky Hank, the AMC adaptation of Richard Russo’s 1997 novel, Straight Man the story of
William Henry Devereaux Jr., the interim head of the Railton College English department who is thrown into a new role at the struggling school while simultaneously going through a midlife crisis.
This is exactly the kind of misanthropic intensity Odenkirk was born to play.
