WATCH: Sarah Manguso and Elizabeth McCracken on All-American Whiteness
Hosted by Greenlight Bookstore
Sarah Manguso, Guggenheim Fellow and acclaimed and formally innovative author most recently of 300 Arguments, celebrates the publication of her first novel. Written in devastatingly precise, restrained vignettes, Very Cold People renders a piercing, masterful story of growing up—and out of—the suffocating constraints of small-town America.
Manguso is joined on Greenlight’s virtual stage by author Elizabeth McCracken (The Souvenir Museum) for a reading and discussion of the crossroads of history and social class and that particular all-American whiteness where the ice of emotional restraint meets the embers of smoldering rage.
