WATCH: Dennis K. Crosby on the Moral Beauty of Urban Fantasy
From the New Video Series Authors in the Tent, Hosted by Ona Russell
Authors in the Tent is a professionally filmed series of interviews with established and emerging authors conducted in a tent Ona Russell purchased during the pandemic. Inspired by Boccaccio’s Decameron and the 1001 Arabian Nights, the tent—elemental, ancient, and ubiquitous—serves as a magical backdrop for literary conversation.
In the third episode, Ona Russell talks with Dennis K. Crosby about his book Death’s Legacy and how a longtime private investigator became a novelist of urban fantasy.
Ona Russell holds a PhD in literature from UC San Diego where she also taught for many years. She is author of three award-winning historical mysteries and the recently released Son of Nothingness: A Novel of Appearances.
Dennis K. Crosby is the Amazon Bestselling Author of Death’s Legacy, his debut urban fantasy novel published in November 2020. He grew up in Oak Park, Illinois, and completed his undergraduate work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. With a degree in Criminal Justice he spent six years working as a Private Investigator and during that time developed an affinity for writing poetry. Dennis now works with adult men and women experiencing challenges with mental health, homelessness, and addiction. A self-proclaimed geek and lover of pop culture, Dennis still lives and writes in San Diego, CA. He is currently working on his sophomore novel, tentatively titled, Death’s Debt.
