    Watch Ben Whishaw read Seamus Heaney’s translation of “The Names of the Hare.”

    Earlier this month, at 92NY’s Unterberg Poetry Center, actor Ben Whishaw performed a selection of work from The Translations of Seamus Heaney, edited by Marco Sonzogni, introducing the readings in a script written by Colm Tóibín. The evening included this riveting performance of Heaney’s translation of the anonymous and relatively obscure Middle English poem “The Names of the Hare,” an ecstatic, odd, and very funny bit of literature.
