We’ve said it many, many times before and we’ll say it many, many times again: libraries represent the best of America. Today’s entry: the New York Public Library will give away 500,000 books this summer to help kids, teens, and families build their at-home libraries. In addition to English, books in Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and Bengali will also be available to kids from birth to age 18.

The giveaways are part of the Summer at the Library program, which also includes dance parties, arts workshops (including zine-making!), author discussions and book clubs, and of course, story time.

    Happy summer reading!
