Sabrina Horn Against “Faking It Till You Make It”
In Conversation with Andrew Keen on Keen On
Hosted by Andrew Keen, Keen On features conversations with some of the world’s leading thinkers and writers about the economic, political, and technological issues being discussed in the news, right now.
In this episode, Andrew is joined by Sabrina Horn, author of Make It Don’t Fake It: Leading with Authenticity for Real Business Success, to discuss gaining the clarity of thought necessary to make sound business decisions.
From the episode:
Sabrina Horn: Authenticity, honesty, integrity, all those words get to the same thing, which is the truth, and dealing with reality. And it’s a core foundation of any successful business or leadership team–or marriage, frankly. Any kind of relationship. And I think in recent years we’ve seen a lag of that, a loss of that. A lot of people have forgotten about the fact that integrity matters. So that mantra, “fake it till you make it,” I think has really fueled that and accelerated that to the point where it’s taken on a life of its own, and it’s given people a reason to lie or cheat, to not tell the truth, to get ahead.
