Huge news: Kimberly Denise Jones—aka rap legend Lil’ Kim—has written a “deeply personal and revealing” memoir, and we get to read it later this year. THE QUEEN BEE, written with Kathy Iandoli, will be published in November 2021 by Hachette Books.

THE QUEEN BEE gives readers Lil Kim’s side of the story for the very first time. The memoir reveals everything that went on behind-the-scenes of Lil’ Kim’s legendary rap career—from her childhood growing up in Brooklyn and rise to fame, to her complex high-profile relationships, to the misogyny within the music industry that she fought to change, to the choice that ultimately landed her in prison. In a press release, Hachette described THE QUEEN BEE as “every bit as fierce, empowering, and badass as the woman at the heart of this story—and firmly cements her legacy as a true feminist icon.”

Said Lil’ Kim, “I’m thrilled Kathy and I have put something special together for my fans . . . I’m excited to finally get to tell my story after all this time. Many people have thought they knew the story of Lil’ Kim, but they have no idea.”
