Keep important information about your rights close at hand with these bookmarks.

One of the scariest threats that the Trump administration has made are against immigrants and other people they are eager to kick out. A lot of organizations have been preparing by sharing information about what rights we have if ICE or cops come around — the ACLU is posting great information you can share on social media, and the Immigrant Defense Project has a ton of great advice and facts too, much of it in lots of downloadable and printable formats.

This stuff is working too. Tom Homan, Trump’s border czar and guy whose name sounds like a robot trying to pass as a person, went on CNN the other day to complain that well-informed citizens are smarter than the cops:

“For instance, Chicago, very well-educated. They’ve been educated how to defy ICE, how to hide from ICE. I’ve seen many pamphlets from many NGOs: ‘Here’s how you escape ICE from arresting you’; ‘Here’s what you need to do.’”

He seems to be referencing Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s “Know Your Rights” ad campaign to protect and inform Chicagoans. Glad to hear it’s working!

If you’re a Lit Hub reader, you probably don’t go anywhere without a book, so I decided to put together some bookmarks with some information on them, so that you’ll never be without tips on how to deal with ICE:

Click for an 8.5” x 11” page you can print, fold, glue together, and have on you at all times.

And I’m no designer, but if you are and make a better-looking bookmark, send it my way! I’d love to feature some other designs, too.
