In true asshole fashion, Jake Paul mocks Floyd Mayweather’s reading ability.

Jake Paul, an asshole, should not have made fun of Floyd Mayweather’s reading ability. (For background, Mayweather fought to an eight-round draw with Paul’s brother Logan, and Jake—also a boxer—might want some of that action for himself.)

Look, I hate the clown show that is the 21st-century pre-fight boxing press conference, in which everybody tries to come across as the biggest dick in the world (not in the good, BDE way, but in the old fashioned asshole way). But no matter how fucked up of a clown show your sport has become, it is truly awful to make fun of someone else’s reading level.

Floyd Mayweather and his 50-0 professional record (and the millions that came with it) can handle this particular taunt—made on Twitter, which is also a clown show—but Mayweather is not the only person hearing it. There are millions of people (of all ages) across this country who’ve been let down by educational and economic systems that privilege the haves and disadvantage the have-nots. They should not be made to feel shame for that. They should not feel like something is wrong with them if they struggle to read. They do not need some YouTube-FameBoi-Turned-Circus-Pugilist making them feel any worse than they already do.

I fucking hate this. Please consider donating to one of these worthy literacy programs. I will be.
