Rider Strong: I love that passage about how Mr. Garth is obsessed with work and how he discovered men working and building things and that became his passion and his whole life. He can’t really see anything outside of that. That’s all he cares about. I was like, that speaks true to how people think of themselves in the world. We pick our battles and we are super passionate and we see ourselves as the star of our own little thing. This book is just so good at zooming in on those people’s narratives and showing the tension that they’re experiencing.
Tod Goldberg: I think of myself sort of as a trickster.
Julia Pistell: I think we’ve all heard and thought about how everyone feels like a protagonist. But I alway think about the question, what genre do you think your life is, right?
