Thirty-five thousand dollars is on offer for winners of the 2023 Republic of Consciousness Prize, which aims to support small-press works and is open to U.S. and Canadian works.

The Prize notes that “most often it is the small publishers who take the largest creative and financial risks and yet, in a purely financial sense, they are least able to do so.” Judges include Lori Feathers of Interabang Books, Javier Ramirez of Exile in Bookville, founder of the UK Republic of Consciousness Prize Neil Griffiths, and author Ben Fountain.
