In what sort of sounds like the plot to a romance-thriller, romance writer Faleena Hopkins has been found safe in Hawaii after fleeing the contiguous United States following a run in with Wyoming state troopers. According to the Daily Beast:

Last month, Hopkins had behaved erratically, fleeing an officer in Wyoming at high speed after “positioning [her car] in the middle of the highway.” She was arrested and charged with several offenses. Upon her initial release, she bought a new phone and disappeared.

I can only assume Hopkins went to ground in Hawaii to await her one true love, the handsome dispatcher at Jackson PD (she did, after all, write a book called Cocky Cowboy). His name is probably Cole and he just pours himself into those Wranglers and though he’s tough as nails and ropes cattle on weekends to keep his ailing grandpa’s ranch alive he knows the difference between pinot noir and pinot gris and appreciates the poetry of Sharon Olds (though sometimes it makes him blush).

I hope Cole and Faleena can someday find happiness, and that this plot stays true to romance (rather than legal thriller or carceral memoir).
