If you prefer your books without an ounce of escapism, here’s some good news for you: Celadon Books is publishing the House Select Committee’s report on the January 6th attack on the Capitol as both an ebook and a paperback, in collaboration with The New Yorker.

The book will feature an introduction by David Remnick, who called the book “an important historical document, the first comprehensive portrait of the January 6th insurrection at the Capitol.”

The government report-to-bestseller pipeline includes the 9/11 Commission Report (published by W. W. Norton), the Starr Report (published by the now-defunct Prima Lifestyles), the Senate Select Intelligence Committee’s Study of the C.I.A.’s Detention and Interrogation Program, AKA the Torture Report, and the Climate Report (both published by Melville House).

Hey, I’m glad to see publishers making money from trying to educate the public about the riots rather than just giving airtime to the people who helped incite them.
