Shannon Cain

Shannon Cain is a fiction writer living in France on an artist's visa and finishing up a novel set in contemporary Paris. Her first book, The Necessity of Certain Behaviors, won the Drue Heinz Literature Prize. Her work has also been recognized with the O. Henry Prize, twice the Pushcart Prize, and with a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. Before she turned to writing and teaching, she worked as a fundraiser and director for social justice organizations.
