J. Chester Johnson

J. Chester Johnson is a poet, essayist, and translator. He is the author of several poetry collections, as well as the retranslated Psalms for The Book of Common Prayer, which he did with W. H. Auden. He served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U. S. Treasury Department under Jimmy Carter and lives in New York City. His newest book, Damaged Heritage, about the Elaine Race Massacre of 1919, is available from Pegasus.
