Cecilia Muñoz spent two decades at the National Council of La Raza (now UNIDOS US), followed by eight years on President Obama’s senior team, first as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, then as Director of the Domestic Policy Council. She is now the Vice President for Public Interest Technology and Local Initiatives at New America. She is the recipient of a MacArthur “genius” award for her work on civil rights and immigration. She is a trustee of the Kresge and MacArthur Foundations and chairs the U.S. Programs board of the Open Society Foundations. She is a Senior Fellow at Results for America and serves on the boards of the Protect Democracy Project and Civic Nation. She lives with her husband in Maryland.
