Amelia Blanquera

Amelia Blanquera received an MFA in Creative Nonfiction at Columbia University and published in McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, the New York Times, Orion, The Nervous Breakdown, and Climbing Magazine, among others. While at Columbia, she was a member of Our Word, a student group devoted to artists of color. She was a Creative Writing Teaching Fellow and a Teaching Assistant in the Writing Center at the Columbia University School of Social Work, as well as an adjunct instructor at the NYU School of Professional Studies, where she taught in the Access Program. Born on Valentine's day, she died in March 2017 at the age of 47.
