Another reason to love Pedro Pascal? He called J.K. Rowling a “heinous loser.”
We already knew Pedro Pescal, gimlet-eyed star of The Last of Us and several buzzy action franchises, was a sweetheart. His Hollywood reputation stays stainless in a sea of divas. His little sister Lux is “incredibly proud” of him.
And it would seem he has pretty decent taste in books.
Though I didn’t need another reason to rush this order to the framers, I’m happy to report one. Last week, Pascal responded to the passage of the ironically named, anti-trans UK Equality Act with some choice fire. His target? The multimillionaire children’s book author turned hate sponge, Joanne Rowling.
Rowling, a woman who has celebrated inter-species transfiguration on the page while refusing to wrap her head around gender as a concept, backed the “gender-critical” campaign that successfully ousted trans people from protection under the Equality Act.
After the act’s passage, the professional TERF celebrated her victory with a callow “Mischief Managed” wink on her socials. You know, like Voldemort might.
A swift clap back followed, including calls to boycott the upcoming Harry Potter series, which is slated to fly onto HBO in 2026. Pascal responded to one such notice, via an Instagram post from the activist/writer Tariq Ra’ouf. Expressing support for a Boy-Who-Lived-boycott, he said of Rowling’s supervillainy, “Awful disgusting SH*T is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior.”
It’s nice—if unfortunately rare—for a celebrity to stand on the right side of history these days. So we applaud Pedro’s allegiance. But the other headline here is that precocious seventh grader insults are back with a vengeance. I’m calling it, y’all. Let this be the summer when all enemies to gender-expansive feminism and basic human rights are Heinous Losers, after Mr. Pascal’s coin.
If you don’t support trans folks, I’m sorry—and General Acacius thinks you should leave.
