“He thought her beautiful, believed her impeccably wise; dreamed of her, wrote poems to her, which, ignoring the subject, she corrected in red ink….”
–Virginia Woolf, Mrs. Dalloway
Red Ink is a quarterly series curated by Michele Filgate, co-sponsored by Literary Hub. Red Ink makes one think of vitality, blood, the monthly cycle, correcting history, and making a mark on the world. This dynamic series focuses on women writers, past and present. The third discussion, “Writing About Depression,” will feature Margo Jefferson (Negroland), Ruth Franklin (Shirley Jackson: A Rather Haunted Life), Elisa Albert (After Birth), Morgan Parker (Other People’s Comfort Keeps Me Up At Night), and Bethanne Patrick (The Books That Changed My Life, Lit Hub contributing editor and columnist, NBCC board member). For more information, subscribe to the Red Ink Series or email Red Ink Series here.
This event takes place at BookCourt on December 8 at 7pm. Drinks kindly provided by Archer Roose.
