In possibly my favorite adaptation news of the year, Madeline Miller’s 2018 novel Circe—a gorgeous, gripping reimagining of the story of its titular goddess—will be adapted as and eight-episode limited series on HBO Max (a new subscription streaming service, set to launch in spring 2020). Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, who co-wrote Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Jurassic World, will write and executive produce the series. Rick, Amanda: if you’re reading this (as I assume you are), please consider Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Circe and Andrew Scott as Hermes. Seriously. Think about it.
