WATCH: Alina Adams and Masha Rumer on Writing History as It Happens
Hosted by Greenlight Bookstore
Award-winning authors Alina Adams and Masha Rumer join together on our virtual events stage to present their latest works, writing history as it happens.
While Alina’s latest novel, My Mother’s Secret: A Novel of the Jewish Autonomous Region, covers a little known aspect of recent history, Masha’s latest memoir, Parenting with an Accent, provides insights into multicultural dating, raising bilingual kids, dealing with discrimination, and more.
Their writing overlaps in examining intergenerational trauma, including in the former Soviet Union, how it has affected generations of immigrants in the US, and how Russia’s war in Ukraine is impacting families around the world, including the writers’ own families.
Join Masha and Alina for what is sure to be a candid and empathetic discussion on topics relevant to anyone who is an immigrant or who teaches, works with, or is related to immigrants.
