    The first pictures from The Goldfinch reveal how perfectly cast Ansel Elgort was.

    As I said aloud in the office just now, I never thought I would say it, but Ansel Elgort was the perfect choice for Theo Decker. Just look at these pictures! That’s a face that could convince you to (SPOILER ALERT) buy a chest-on-chest of dubious provenance. Nicole Kidman as Mrs. Barbour projects the appropriate level of ice, and while I envisioned Hobie as older, Jeffrey Wright has warm eyes so I will allow it.

    The film’s first trailer premiers tomorrow, because apparently that’s a thing we’re doing now.
