Rom-com fans, rejoice: Curtis Sittenfeld’s new book, Romantic Comedy, is coming in spring.

Some exciting spring book news: Random House will publish Curtis Sittenfeld’s seventh novel in April. And as both a Sittenfeld completist and an unabashed rom-com lover (NB: this does not include Netflix rom-coms), I’m very excited by both the novel’s title—Romantic Comedy—and its plot synopsis.

The novel follows Sally Milz, a sketch writer for a late-night comedy show in the SNL vein, who subverts the classic average-dude-with-extremely-hot-lady trope when she attracts the attention of Noah Brewster, “a pop music sensation with a reputation for dating models.”

Sittenfeld—whose previous novels include PrepEligible, and, most recently, Rodham—is a master at capturing the horrors and delights of romantic relationships with subtlety, humor, and pathos, so I’m very excited to get my hands on this one.

Romantic Comedy will be available in the US via Random House and the UK via Doubleday on April 13, 2023.
