Pour one out for Pacific Standard and its final book recommendations.

Abruptly-shuttered Pacific Standard is, in its final breaths, recommending some fall reading material in a list from contributing editor Maris Kreizman along with other contributors to the magazine. Senior editor Ted Scheinman writes, “While Pacific Standard won’t be around in the fall, these books will, and we encourage you to read them!”

The list includes upcoming books from Leslie Jamison, Patti Smith, and Naomi Klein, and shares some overlap with our most anticipated books for the fall, too. Digital media seems like a hopeless, horrible hellscape so much of the time, but books are forever.
