Some sad news this morning for all the poetry lovers out there: Poets House announced today it would suspend operations effective immediately, “due to budgetary issues caused by the Coronavirus.” Lee Briccetti, who has led Poets House as executive director for more than three decades, will also retire.

The Poets House leadership hopes it can reopen later in 2021, at which point the organization will emphasize the “core library services” that it provides at its location in lower Manhattan, according to a statement.
