Here are the bookies’ odds for the 2021 Booker Prize.
Tomorrow, the 2021 winner of the Booker Prize, the biggest literary prize in the UK, will be announced in a ceremony hosted by Samira Ahmed and broadcast live by the BBC starting at 3:15 EST. As you probably know, six novels have been shortlisted for the Booker Prize, which comes complete with a £50,000 purse and (often) even more in book sales. But—assuming you’re the betting sort—which of the six should you put your money on? (After all, don’t forget that last year, the bookies got it right.)
Don’t worry, Lit Hub is here for you. As of this writing, the odds for the 2021 Booker Prize, according to both Ladbrokes and Nicer Odds, are as follows:
Damon Galgut, The Promise : 2 to 1
Richard Powers, Bewilderment : 4 to 1
Maggie Shipstead, Great Circle : 5 to 1
Patricia Lockwood, No One is Talking About This : 6 to 1
Nadifa Mohamed, The Fortune Men : 8 to 1
Anuk Arudpragasam, A Passage North 14 to 1
