Whether or not you live in a place where you can safely be outside for Earth Day, you can celebrate it with US Poet Laureate Joy Harjo, who will hold a live-streamed reading and discussion tonight at 8:30 pm ET.

Hosted by UC Berkeley’s Arts Research Center, Harjo will read some of her work and engage in a discussion with Beth Piatote, writer and associate professor of Native American Studies at UC Berkeley.

“Every day is Earth Day. We are the earth,” Harjo said in a video posted last week by Southwest Roots Music. “We don’t own the earth, we’re essentially a part of the inherent structure of the earth, and our presence can either help or hinder or even destroy.”
