Emma Straub on Being Present, No Matter Where You Are
This Week on The Literary Life with Mitchell Kaplan
On today’s episode of The Literary Life, Mitchell Kaplan is joined by Emma Straub to discuss her latest book, This Time Tomorrow, out now from Riverhead Books.
From the episode:
Emma Straub: My hope is that for people who know the Upper West Side, certainly there are a lot of treasures for them in this book. But my hope is that what it really does is just make people think about their own special places, whatever those are. If it’s a Waffle House, if it’s a diner or whatever it is, that they remember the place that they would go with their friends at midnight and eat French fries and drink coffee and smoke cigarettes and think that they were terribly, terribly grown up.
