Narrator George Guidall performs Daughter of the Morning Star, Book 17 in the Sheriff Walt Longmire series, with all of his masterful storytelling talent on display. Host Jo Reed and AudioFile’s Robin Whitten discuss how George’s familiarity with all of the characters helps listeners feel like they know them, too. The sheriff and his partner-in-justice, Henry Standing Bear, are requested by Tribal Police Chief Lola Long to investigate death threats sent to her niece, a talented basketball player. They also are called upon to look into past disappearances, and the story draws attention to the true tragedies of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. A standout in the series for story and performance.
