Rosalind Fox Solomon

Rosalind Fox Solomon has entered closed circles across a diverse range of cultures. She has captured defining moments of the 20th century, from documenting the American South in her project Liberty Theater, to her groundbreaking series Portraits in the Time of AIDS. She has made bodies of work outside of the United States in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. In 2019, the ICP awarded Fox Solomon a Lifetime Achievement award in recognition of her prolific career. Among her other awards is a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, a Lucie Achievement in Portraiture, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. Her MACK books include: THEM, Got to Go, Liberty Theater, The Forgotten, and A Woman I Once Knew. Solomon's work has been exhibited in MoMA, National Gallery of Art, Los Angeles County Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, SFMOMA, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Museo de Arte de Lima, National Gallery of Canada, the Rijksmuseum, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
