Olivia Heffernan and Jamie McCallum

Jamie McCallum is a labor sociologist at Middlebury College and former union organizer. His third book, Essential: How the Pandemic Transformed the Long Fight for Worker Justice, was published this Fall by Basic Books.

Olivia Heffernan is a researcher, journalist, and filmmaker. Her work explores the intersection of race, labor, and incarceration. She just finished working on a book about power building and strategy for the oppressed with two CUNY professors.
