Denise Riley is a philosopher and poet. She is the author of the poetry collections Marxism for Infants, Dry Air, Stair Spirit, and others. Say Something Back was nominated for a Forward Prize for Best Poetry Collection. Riley’s nonfiction writing includes War in the Nursery: Theories of the Child and Mother and Impersonal Passion: Language as Affect. She is currently Professor of the History of Ideas and of Poetry at the University of East Anglia.
