On Sunday night, Interabang Books, Dallas’ largest independent bookstore and only full-service indie bookshop, endured a direct hit from a tornado that barreled through Dallas’ commercial districts, tearing a wide swath through local shops and national chains alike.

The bookstore, along with many of the surrounding businesses, faces a long road to recovery, but store operators say they’ll reopen in a temporary space for holiday shopping. Booksellers remain upbeat—a post on twitter tells us “Do not despair. Interabang will be back!” Check out the Dallas Morning News for more information about the destructive weather event, and you can follow Interabang on Twitter for updates.
